Strategy fir auxilary
we choose auxilary être if the verb is part of the following categories

reflexive verbs
movment verbs
if the verb is not of the above categories choose auxilary avoir
2nd part of the Strategy
If we do choose auxilary être we must coordinate the past participle in gender and number with the subject/noun doing the action
However you do not do this if you are using the auxillary avoir you do not have to do this.
