What are the different forms of energy?
Mechanical, electrical, light, chemical, heat, sound, and nuclear.
What is mechanical energy?
Energy related to the movement or position of an object.
What is electrical energy?
Energy from the flow of electric charges (electricity).
What is light energy?
Energy that travels in waves and can be seen by the human eye.
What is chemical energy?
Energy stored in chemical bonds, released during a chemical reaction.
What is heat energy?
Energy that comes from the movement of particles within a substance; also called thermal energy.
What is sound energy?
Energy that travels as vibrations through a medium, such as air or water.
What is nuclear energy?
Energy stored in the nucleus of an atom, released through fission or fusion.
What are common sources of energy?
Solar, wind, water (hydro), fossil fuels, geothermal, nuclear, and biomass.
What is a renewable energy source?
A source of energy that can be replenished naturally, such as solar or wind energy.
What is a non-renewable energy source?
A source of energy that cannot be easily replenished, such as fossil fuels.
How do humans use energy?
For electricity, transportation, heating, cooling, and powering machines and technology.
What is energy transformation?
The process of changing energy from one form to another, such as chemical energy in food transforming into mechanical energy in the body.
What is an example of energy transformation?
A car engine transforms chemical energy in fuel into mechanical energy to move the car.
