What is EQ?
Equalization is the process of turning up or down the level (dB) of specific frequencies (Hz).
What is most common type of EQ?
The most common type of EQ is a 1 band all frequencies EQ.
We usually refer to this as a volume control.
This is like a track fader in your DAW.
What is parametric EQ?
An EQ that lets you change the frequency, shape (Q) and volume of band.

What are the disadvantages of parametric EQ?
This could offer too much choice which could lead to unmusical tone shaping.
Visual reference can cause you to mix with your eyes and not your ears.
