Why do you think sedition is not always protected by the 1st Amendment? 

I think this is because the 1st amendment is always talking about the freedoms of speech, press, or religion, while sedition is talking about how it wants people to go against the government.

I think that it shouldn't be because you never know someone’s true words if it is not written down, so with slander, it could be false spoken statements.
