  • Analytical thought- results from analysis, such as systematic ranking of pros and cons, risks consequences, possibilities and facts. Analytic thought depends on logic and rationality

  • Role confusion- adolescent does not seem to know or care about what his or her identity is (also called identity diffusion) does what their family does 

  • Moratorium- adolescent’s choice of a socially acceptable way to postpone making identity-achievement decisions, which going to college as a common example
