Bronchial Breathing
A type of breath sound that deviates from the normal pattern, which may indicate underlying respiratory issues or abnormalities. Usually higher in pitch and intensity, bronchial breathing is typically heard over the trachea and mainstem bronchi.
wheeze
A high-pitched whistling sound during breathing, often associated with airway obstruction or narrowing, commonly heard in conditions like asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
cracles/crepitations
Abnormal lung sounds characterized by discontinuous, crackling sounds during inspiration, often indicating fluid in the airways or alveoli, as seen in pneumonia or heart failure.
pleural rub
An abnormal lung sound resembling a creaking or rubbing noise, resulting from the friction between the pleurae, often indicating pleuritis or pleural effusion.
