Archaebacteria
Lack a nucleus and cell organelles. Cell walls do not contain peptidoglycan. Methanogens, halophiles, thermophiles, acidophiles.
Eubacteria
Lack a nucleus and cell organelles. Cell walls made of peptidoglycan. Are inhibited by antibiotics. Live almost everywhere. Reproduce asexually.
Protista
Some autotrophic, some heterotrophic. Most reproduce asexually; some reproduce sexually. Some move by cilia; some move by flagella; some move with pseudopodia. Some plantlike; some animal-like; some fungi-like. Organisms that do not fit in any other kingdom belong here.
Fungi
All members are heterotrophic. Some members unicellular; some members multicellular. Reproduce sexually or asexually. Nonmotile (do not move). Most are decomposers. Extracellular digestion. Cell wall of chitin.
Plantae
Have nucleus and membrane-bound organelles. Nonmotile (do not move). All photoautotrophic. Cell wall of cellulose.
Animalia
All members multicellular. Have nucleus and membrane-bound organelles. Reproduce sexually or asexually. All move at some point in life. No cell wall. All heterotrophic.
