What are the transitions in the mode of production of goods?
Steam
Coal
Mechanisation
Industrialisation
Pollution and Carbon dixide
Industrialisation Revolution
Where was the ‘Industrialisation Revolution’ started?
In Europe
In USA
How did the ‘Industrialisation revolution’ accelerated in the 20th century and in the 1950s?
It accelerated with the mordenisation of industries, transport system and demand for electricity.
What causes the rise in the level of carbon dioxide???
The use of fossil fuel, petrolium increased the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
Name 3 fossil fuels
Petroleum
Coal
Natural Gas
Why are petroleum, coal and natural gas called ‘Fossil Fuels’???
Because they are the remains of organisms that lived long ago.
What are ‘Organisms’?
They are plants, animals and other living things.
Name the 3 ‘Greenhouse gases’
Carbon Dioxide
Methane
Nitrous oxide
Why is the risk of global warming is heightened??
Because the the greater presense of the greenhouse gases.
Name the 4 main cause of Global Warming
Global Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Population Increase and Urbanisation
Insdustrialisation
Traffic Jam and Air pollution
What is ‘Global Warming’?
Global Warming refers to general increase in the Earth's average temparature, which causes climate change patterns across the world.
What does the ‘Natural Greenhouse Effect’ cause?
Natural Greenhouse Effect causes the warming of the Earth's atmosphere.
What would happened to the average temperature of the Earth without the natural greenhouse effect?
Without the naural greenhouse effect the average Earth's temparature would have been lower that 30 degree celsius
What is meant by the term ‘Natural Greenhouse Effect’?
The Natural Greenhouse Efects is when some gases in the air trap the sun's heat on the earth, thus keeping the planet warm enough for life.
Why did the amount of greenhouse gases have increased in the atmosphere?
It has increased because of the human's activities and industrialisation.
How the human's activities and the industrialisation have risen up the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere?
The humans’ activities and the industrialisation are trapping more het in the atmosphere leading to a global increase in the temperature.
What is meant by the term ‘Human Enhanced Greenhouse Effect’?
The ‘Human Enhanced Greenhouse Effect’ is when the human activities add more gases in the air, causing the Earth to get hotter.
What are the 3 effects observed due to the emissions of greenhouse gases and the rise in temperature?
Changes in rainfall patterns
Extremely unexpected weather conditions
More variability in weather conditions
What was the name of the germal climatologist?
Wladimir Koppen.
What was the name of his ‘Climate Classification System’?
The ‘Koppen Climate Classification System’.
What are the 5 main types of climate n the world?
A) Tropical
B) Dry
C) Temparate/ MID-LATITUDE HUMID
D) Continental/ MID-LATUTUDE DRY
E) Polar
What is meant by the term ‘ Tropical’???
It has high temparature and high annual rainfall. All months have an average teperature above 18 degree celcius so they they do not have snowfall even in winter season.
What is meant by the term ‘Dry’?
It ha almost the same temparatures as tropical but has little annual rainfall. It has a hot and dry weather trend and evaporation often exceeds precipitation.
What is meant by the term ‘Temparate/MID-LATITUDE HUMID’?
It is influenced by both land and water that surround them. They have warm-to-hot summers and mil winters. The coldest month has an average temparature between -3 dgrre celcius and 18 degree celcius.
What is meant by the term ‘Continental/ MID-LATITUDE DRY’?
It is generally found in the interiors of large masses. The temparatures vary widely. They experiences warm summers and cold winters and they received modest precipitation.
