Solitary Inflorescence

A single flower at the end of a stem.

Spike Inflorescence

Flowers attached directly to the stem without stalks.

Raceme Inflorescence

Flowers attached to the stem with short stalks.

Panicle Inflorescence

A branched, indeterminate inflorescence.

Umbel Inflorescence

Flower stalks arising from a common point, resembling an umbrella.

Simple Umbel

A type of umbel inflorescence--flower stalks arising from a common point, resembling an umbrella.

Compound Umbel

Umbel inflorescence in which each umbel is made up of smaller umbels.

Corymb Inflorescence

Flowers arranged so the outermost are borne on longer stalks than the inner flowers, creating a flat-topped inflorescence.

Cyme Inflorescence

A flat-topped inflorescence with a central flower that blooms first.

Head Inflorescence

Rounded inflorescence of sessile flowers.
