An acid-base pair on each side of an acid-base equilibrium reaction, related to each other by the difference of H ions.

The negative logarithm to the base 10 of the hydrogen ion concentration

Ka - acid dissociation constant.

Equilibrium constant of weak acid when dissociating - extent of dissociation of an acid

Buffer solution

Minimize changes in pH when a small amount of acid/alkali is added

Equilibrium solubility - Ksp

The product of concentrations of each ion in a saturated solution of a sparingly soluble salt at 298K, raised to the power of their relative concentration.

Partition coefficients - Kpc

Ratio of concentrations of a solute in 2 different immiscible solvents in contact with each other when equilibrium has been established.

Common ion effect

The reduction of solubility of a salt when it is mixed with another salt which has an ion that is in common with it.
