What are the electron shell rules?
Electrons always occupy shells.
Lowest energy levels are always filled first (closest to nucleus).
Only a certain number of electrons are allowed in each shell.
Atoms are happier with a full outer shell, e.g. noble gases in group 0.
In most atoms, outer shell is not full so atoms want to react to fill it.
