Pt.1- What are Political Maps?

-Shows features that human’s created, like states, countries, provinces, and cities.

-These features are labled and lines show boundaries between different areas.

Pt. 1- Examples of Borders in Political Maps

Ex: Between different countries, there are borders present to show that it’s a new territory

Pt. 2- Physical Maps

-Shows natural features of geography

-Can show elevation and relief: Elevation is the height of a physical feature above sea level, Relief is the change in elevation from one place to another

-Maps show elevation and relief by using color

Pt. 2- Examples of Physical Maps

Ex: Landforms (mountains, plain, valleys and deserts), oceans, lakes, rivers, and other bodies of water.
