Franklin D. Roosevelt
The 32nd President of the United States who led the country during the Great Depression and World War II.
FDR's 3 R's
Relief, Recovery, and Reform were the three main goals of the New Deal.
Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC)
A New Deal program that provided work for young men ages 18-25 by employing them in environmental projects.
Public Works Administration (PWA)

New Deal program that aimed to boost agricultural prices by reducing surpluses; it paid farmers to not produce certain crops.

Created to insure bank deposits, restoring public confidence in the banking system.
Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
Established to regulate the stock market and protect investors from fraudulent practices.

A group of advisors to FDR that included Frances Perkins, the first woman cabinet member.
First 100 Days
A crucial period in FDR's presidency marked by significant legislative activity to address the Great Depression.
