the brunonian chapter voted to admit women into its pledge class. reactions were mixed, though many brothers or chapters were very upset.

what was the trinity compromise?
phi kappa chapters suggested five solutions to the co ed problem.
1. grant women full, unconditional, membership, in the fraternity
2. revoke the charter of any chapter initiating women
3. adopt a home rule policy
4. Restrict yet tolerate women's "associate membership"
5. Split the fraternity into two organizations: one male, one coed
from this came the trinity compromise where women were allowed to be inducted as full members of an individual chapter and participate in the initiation ceremony as long as they don't hold constitutional office.
