what do they do?
people who may operate within branches of healthcare; medicine, dentistry
improve accesibility and quality of health care for population. They promote health care and prevent diseases and deliver health care services.
what is primary care
give some examples of people who provide primary care?
-provides first point of contact
-primary care involves day to day healthcare available (first place people go when they need health advice or treatment)
eg: gp, community pharmacists, practice nurses, dentists, opticians

life threatening emergencies eg: serious road accident, heart attack or stroke
service that provides advice and can direct you to the best place to get help if you cannot contact a GP
What is secondary care
For health problems that are not dealt with primary care because more specialised knowledge is required than just a gp
