  • using the supplied measuring cup, fill cup to top line (2tbsp) with alginate

  • empty to a mixing cup

  • Fill the cup with water. The water temperature should be approximately 73°C since colder water retards setting and warmer water speeds up setting.

  • recommended mixing time is 1 minute to achieve a creamy mix

  • fill tray

  • fill quickly you don’t have much time

  • use your leftover alginate in your mixing cup to tell when the alginate in your mouth is completely solidified

  • the alginate is ready when it is firm to touch and it doesn’t leave residue in your finger

  • using the tab as the handle, gently jiggle the tray from side to side to release the vacuum

  • remove the tray and rinse the impression thoroughly in running water to remove saliva & debris

  • pour impression material immediately to achieve the most accurate result

  • your finished impression should look somewhat like

  • in a clean mixing cup, start mixing cement/cast measure approximately ¼ cup water into the cup

  • pour cement/cast into cup and sprinkle water until it settles on top and looks like a dry river be

  • mix until you get a nice, creamy consistency, work out all lumps

  • the cement or cast will not be as thick as the alginate was

  • gently keep adding layers until it is build up all over the top of the mold

  • after the first coat had started to set, use the extra cement/cast mixture you have been mixing to build a thicker layer all over the mold, filling the extra space

  • holding the dental tray by the tab, gently tap the mold on the corner of the table to remove the air bubbles and fill the rest of the mold

  • after the mold has had plenty of time to cure, gently pull the mold from the tray

  • discard negative alginate mold * Do not attempt to make additional impression from the same alginate negative

  • wrap mold care fully in supplied packing materials and send to the dental appliance laboratory
