Anechoic
Neither producing nor possessing echoes.
Echogenicity
Characteristic of tissue to reflect sound waves & produce echoes (grayscale).
Hypoechoic
Less echogenic.
Isoechoic
Tissues having the same echogenicity, making it difficult to differentiate from one another.
M-mode
Presentation of moving structures along a single line in the ultrasound beam, displayed as time vs. distance from the transducer.
Decubitis
Lying on a horizontal surface; patient is lying on their side (e.g., left lateral decubitis: patient lies on the left side with the right side up).
Prone
Lying face downward; patient lies on their stomach.

Relating to joints.

Relating to bile.
