Physical Education
It is an integral part of educational program designed to promote optimum development of the individual physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually through total body movements in the performance of properly selected physical activities.
Physical Fitness
It is the ability of the body to perform one's daily tasks efficiently without undue fatigue and still has some extra reserve in cases of emergency.
Organic Vigor
This refers to the soundness of the heart and lungs which contributes to resistance to disease.
Endurance
This refers to cardiovascular-respiratory efficiency which gives the individual the ability to sustain long-continued contractions where a number of muscle groups are used; the capacity to bear or last long in a certain task without undue fatigue.
Strength
It is the capacity to sustain the application of force without yielding or breaking; the ability of the muscle to exert effort against a resistance.
Power
This refers to muscular power which is the ability to release maximum force in the shortest possible time.
Flexibility
is a quality of plasticity; the ability to do a wide range of movement.
Balance
The ability to control organic equipment neuro- muscularly.
Agility
The ability to change position or direction with quickness and lightness of movement.
Speed
It is the ability to make successive movements of the same kind in the shortest period of time.
Aerobic Capacity
This refers to the ability of the heart, lungs, and blood vessels to supply oxygen and nutrients to the working muscles efficiently in order to sustain prolonged rhythmical exercises.
Muscular Strength
It is the ability of the muscle to generate the greatest force.
Muscular Endurance
is the ability of the muscle to resist fatigue when performing multiple repetitions of a submaximal load.
Exercises
These are repetitive movements that aim to improve one or more components of fitness. Exercises are generally classified as aerobic exercise, resistance or stretching exercise.
