Humerus

found between the scapula and the radius/ulna

Greater tubercle

a roughened palpable area on the proximal, craniolateral aspect of the bone

Head

a smooth, rounded proximocaudal protuberance.

It articulates with the glenoid cavity of the scapula forming the shoulder joint.

Deltoid Tuberosity

a palpable ridge on the craniolateral aspect of the proximal 1/3rd of the bone

Lateral epicondyle

a distolateral palpable prominence

Lesser tubercle

a prominence on the proximal, medial aspect of the bone

Medial epicondyle

a distomedial palpable prominence

Trochlea

a circular concavity MEDIAL to a ridge in the craniodistal part of the bone.

Articulates with the radius and ulna, forming part of the elbow joint.

Capitulum

a circular concavity LATERAL to a ridge in the craniodistal part of the bone.

Articulates with the radius, forming part of the elbow joint.

Radial Fossa

a craniodistal concavity in the humeral condyle

Supratrochlear foramen

an opening between the radial fossa and olecranon fossa

Condyle

the distal part of the humerus including the articulation areas, the epicondyles, and fossae and supertrochlear foramen.

Olecranon fossa

a caudodistal concavity in the humeral condyle.
