Thorndike

studied operant conditioning through cats; studied how long it takes them to learn to escape their crates using incentives

Extinction (in Classical Conditioning)

The dying out of a conditioned response

Spontaneous Recovery (in Classical Conditioning)

The reappearance of a previously extinct conditioned response after a period of time has passed.

Stimulus Generalization (in Classical Conditioning)

The tendency to respond to stimuli that are similar to the conditioned stimulus.

Stimulus Discrimination (in Classical Conditioning)

The ability to differentiate between similar stimuli and respond only to the specific conditioned stimulus.
