Psychological disorder
A condition that affects thinking, feeling, or behavior in a way that causes distress or problems with daily life.
ADHD

Anxiety disorders

Acute schizophrenia
Sudden schizophrenia, often caused by stress, may improve quicker.

False beliefs not based in reality.

Old name for DID.
Neurosis
Old term for mild mental disorders without loss of reality.
Psychosis
A severe condition where someone loses touch with reality.

How environment can turn genes on or off.
Bipolar disorder
A disorder with mood swings from highs (mania) to lows (depression).
Rumination
Repeatedly thinking about the same sad or upsetting thoughts.
Dissociative disorders
Mental illnesses where people disconnect from reality or identity.
Antisocial personality disorder
A disorder where a person shows no concern for others and breaks rules.
Anorexia
An eating disorder where a person starves themselves out of fear of weight gain.
Bulimia
An eating disorder with binge eating followed by purging (vomiting or laxatives).
