anterior, big, superficial chest muscle

posterior, superficial, inferior angle of scapula to the spine, back muscles

supraspinatus

posterior, sits on scapula bone above spine of scapula in supraspinous fossa

infraspinatus

posterior, sits on scapula bone below spine of scapula in infraspinous fossa

subscapularis

anterior, sits on scapula bone on the subscapular fossa

teres major

posterior, inferior, big, chunky muscle at bottom of shoulder

teres minor

biceps brachii

anterior, superficial upper arm muscle, looks like two different muscles but comes together in one tendon at the elbow

triceps brachii

anterior, superficial, fleshy part of forearm, crosses elbow joint, slacks when elbow flexed

brachioradialis

anterior, deep, small and shiny, attaches to medial side of humerus

external abdominal oblique

anterior, most superficial abdominal muscle, on sides, fibers run like putting hands in pockets

anterior, deep to external oblique, fibers run up and in

transverse abdominus

anterior, deepest abdominal muscle, fibers run left to right

rectus abdominus

anterior, six pack, fibers run straight up and down

intercostals

anterior, in between ribs, fibers run opposite direction, external muscles open lungs, internal close lungs

spinalis

posterior, most medial, right on spine

longissimus

posterior, lateral to spinalis

iliocostalis

posterior, most lateral

serratus anterior

wraps from posterior to anterior, medial border of scapula to side of ribs, grabs ribs like fingers, holds scapula in place

rhomboid

posterior, looks like a geometric rhomboid, medial border of scapula to spine, brings shoulder blades together

iliopsoas

deep, hip flexor, when flexing the hip located in the crease where trunk meets proximal end of femur

sartorius

anterior, superficial, ASIS of hip to tibia, longest muscle in the body, externally rotates the hip

gracilis

medial, groin muscle, long skinny muscle

gluteus maximus

posterior, superficial, big butt muscle

gluteus medius

smaller than gluteus maximus, more medial

gluteus minimus

deep to gluteus medius

deep, "Harry", under Achilles tendon, flexes big toe
