Moment of inertia of a body
is a measure of an object's resistance to rotational motion about an axis, depending on the mass distribution relative to that axis. formula is expressed as I = Σ(mi ri²), where mi is the mass of each particle and ri is the distance from the axis of rotation.
moment of inertia depends upon
the mass distribution ,the axis of rotation, shape of the body, mass
radius of gyration
is a perpendicular distance from the axis of rotation to the point where the whole mass of the body is supposed to be concentrated. Defined as k = √(I/m), where is the moment of inertia and m is the total mass.
