Modulation
The process of varying certain properties of a transmission medium to encode a signal.
Transmission Medium
Materials through which data signals travel, such as electric current, infrared light, or radio waves.
Bandwidth
The range of frequencies that a media type can support, often used to measure the amount of data that can be transferred.
Frequency
The number of cycles per second of a wave, measured in Hertz (Hz).
Mbps
Megabits per second; a unit used to measure data transfer speed.
Encoding Methods
Techniques that convert symbols into digital bits (ones and zeros) for data transmission.
Media Bandwidth
The capacity of a transmission medium to carry data, typically measured in bits per second.
Higher Frequencies
Frequencies that allow for more data to be transferred per second.
