1- desired state: what is the goal
2- present state: measure the present state using the goal
3-gap analysis: measure and compare the difference of the present and desired state
4-develop project scope: why are goals not being met?
5- collect, share & analyze data: moving into new phase
6- develop solutions and recommendations
7- develop an implementation plan: solutions

desired outcomes from the project. ( could be in the areas of performance, cost, time and or quality. )

deliverables

a description of the products and. or services that should be delivered by the end of the project. (motion picture with a PG-13 rating)

milestones

specific events targeting as important to staying on track that will occur thought the project. (actors should be chosen and under contract by July.)

activity on node (AON) network diagrams

an illustrations where each circle represents a single activity in the project.

critical path

is project path with the longest total duration

slack

amount of time a path or single activity can be delayed without impacting the project duration

crashing a project

the act of finding a cost effective way to decrease the present length of the project.
