Epicardium
the outer layer of the wall of the heart, and is formed by the visceral layer of the serous pericardium
Myocardium
the muscular middle layer of the wall of the heart and has excitable tissue and the conducting system
Endocardium
the innermost layer of the heart, covers the hearts chambers, composed of blood vessels which provides a slick surface for easy blood flow and preventing clots
structure of the heart
the heart is subdivided by septa into left and right and a constriction subdivides each half of the organ into two cavities therefore the heart consists of 4 chambers
