Tension
when a string/rope is attatched to an object, and the string pulls on the object.
Buoyant
when an object is partially or fully submerged in a fluid (air of water)
Thrust
when exhaust gases escape an object, like a rocket.
Elastic/Spring
when a spring is coiled against an object.
Friction
When a solid object moves along a solid surface creating resisting force relative to the objects motion.
Drag
When an object interacts with a fluid (air or water) by moving through that fluid causing resisting force.
Normal
when a solid object is on top of a solid surface, causing perpendicular force.
Gravitational
a force between two objects with mass. The more mass an object has the more attracting force it has towards the other objects.
Electric
a force between two objects with charge. Opposite charges attract while objects with the same charge repel.
Magnetic
a force that ultimately arises between moving charges. Like the electric force, the magnetic force can be both attractive and repulsive.
