Benzodiazepines - common side effect

Drowsiness

Do not take these if you are elderly - side effects are greater (drowsy and falls)

Benzodiazepines - Contraindication

DO NOT take if you have Epilepsy/seizures - can worsen

Bupropion (Wellbutrin) - use

Primary: depression, but can also be used for smoking cessation

Lithium (bipolar treatment) - special instructions

Must have lithium levels in blood monitored

Opioids - side effects

Constipation, respiratory distress, dependence

Amebicides - side effects

GI problems, seizures

Antibiotics (general) - side effects

Nausea, Vomiting, diarrhea

Antibiotics - General Precautions

Dairy and antacids- reduces absorption; DO NOT take while on birth control; Increase effect of blood thinners

Antibiotics - Doxycycline - Precaution

Can cause yellowing of teeth

Antibiotics - Penicillins / Sulfonamides: Warning

Very common allergies to these antibiotic types

Antibiotics - Fluoroquinolones (levofloxacin) - Precaution

Photosensitivity; tendon pain / rupture

Antacids and multivitamins- interfere with the absorption; Shouldn't be administered if pregnant

Excessive sun exposure (causes photosensitivity)
