What is the purpose of the In-Progress Courses List?

How should advisors use the IP section?
copy/paste IP from DARS;
if on Zoom (only), type in instead
Advisors should check if there are any IP classes a student does NOT need to take at the ______ of the session

if student has any courses listed as ____ units, ask if the student understands why. Why should advisors do this?
0 units; because that course can’t contribute o the 120-min to graduate, but does count toward tuition and fees amount
To continue receiving financial aid and for most scholarships students should:
be enrolled in at least 12 units
maintain a pass rate of 66.67%
have an overall GPA of 2.0
If student plans to change some of the classes but isn’t doing so in session, what should advisors do?
make a note in the Summary Notes section
if students does make changes tot heir class schedule in advising session, what should advisors include?
clear notes of what changes were/will be made in the Summary Notes section & make it clear that a student’s remaining requirements will NOT reflect these changes
