Micelles

When single phosphate head and lipid tail form together in water to create a sphere that has a external phosphate hydrophilic surface, but inside is hydrophobic lipid tails.

Micelles connection to formation of membranes

Many micelles came together and formed a bilayer which is similar to that of single membrane organelles. Could be origin of vesicles + cell membrane.
