What does duplex mean?
Doing two things at the same time.
Duplex is an older term used to describe what?
The performance of PW Doppler and grayscale imaging at the same time.
What are the three setting options for Duplex imaging?
Dedicated Doppler
Updated Doppler
Simultaneous Doppler
What is dedicated Doppler?
Where the 2-D image is frozen and the machine is 100% dedicated to Doppler. This gives the best spectral display.
What is updated Doppler?
Where the 2-D image is updated at a variable rate. This machine is 90% dedicated to Doppler and it gives us good spectral trace.
What is simultaneous Doppler?
Where the 2-D image and the Doppler signal are both “live” (sampled back and forth fast enough to appear live). This reduces image rate though and only dives us an acceptable spectral trace.
