However, some students say that the healthier lunches are wasteful. They state that it is too expensive, small and less tasty ("What's Wrong..."). Students may reject the food at first because of the portion, or price but they will eventually realize the benefits. The lunches are more expensive because the school needs to pay for the ingredients needed to make the better food. Although some students don’t like the change in food, portion, and price, the positives weigh out the negatives. The students need to be healthy to learn and grow. In addition, the lunches also provide more nutrition, and just like anything in life; students need to learn to do what is right by practicing. They should practice healthy eating habits, and the more they do it, the the more likely to acquire a taste for veggies. The new school lunches are giving kids more whole grains, fruits and veggies, more protein and healthier dairy, as well as less sugar, less fat, and less sodium ("What's Wrong..."). Better school lunches will benefit the students because it will help with focusing. If schools keep giving out healthy food options the students will receive the nutrition needed to get a good education.

Chips, pizza, and chocolate milk are all the ‘ideal’ school lunch items for most children, teens, and even adults. Lately, schools have been changing their lunches and adding healthier options, like fruit, wheat pizza crust, and low fat chips. Although the food may not be as mouth-watering as before, school lunches should be regulated because it helps with child obesity.

To start with, school lunches should be regulated because it helps with child obesity. According to Doe, child obesity has been turning around due to healthy school lunches. Obesity can be defined as an overweight individual who can have many underlying medical problems due to their unhealthy eating habits. With healthier lunches, students are able to keep off weight, feel good about themselves and their bodies, and be confident. To add, they can participate in school activities like P.E. and sports without feeling self-conscious and have more energy. Also in the article "What's Wrong with Youth Today," the author states, more than 30% of students are overweight. This includes ages varying from 6 to about 20. Changing school lunches to healthier options helps the obesity population to decrease. If the students are fed better food like fruits, and vegetables the obesity population will go down. Obesity has cause people to live shorter than expected. Moreover, healthier lunches can also create a positive desire to learn. For example, students have stronger energy to increase their knowledge, and have a better chance to thrive (Doe). Giving the students better lunch options will cause them to shine! Unhealthy food choices like Cheetos, will drag the students down and give them a small amount of energy to learn. Learning is important to students, but they can’t learn without the energy.

All in all, school lunches should be regulated because it will help with obesity, give the students a desire to learn, and the students will receive the nutrients needed. Even though the portions might be lighter, less tasty, and a little more pricey the lunches will benefit the students quite drastically. The new lunches will help the students for the better. A good lunch means healthy lifestyle!
