What did Eisenhower do (or not do) in the Hungary?

In 1954, the death of Stalin prompted the CIA to try and softly nudge Soviet countries towards rebellion. One such country was Hungary who, in 1956, attempted a full blown revolution against the now somewhat secure new leader Khrushchev. However, Eisenhower refused to fund or support this revolution, leaving the rebels at the mercy of the red army who killed some 3000 and caused a further 200,000 to flee.

What did Eisenhower do in Berlin?

In 1958, Khrushchev gave the US 6 months to withdraw all troops from Berlin which they ignored. However, war was averted as a meeting between Eisenhower and Khrushchev and camp David in 1959 concluded that troops could stay as there was no risk of a second blockade but tensions were still present.

What was the U2 crisis?

In 1960 a U2 spy plane was shot down over Russia. The US was ready to retaliate but when the pilot emerged on the 5th of May Eisenhower had to admit that he had been covertly spying on the USSR via their airspace.
