Fibrous Joints
Immobile joints composed of fibrous connective tissue, found in the axial skeleton between plates of the cranium, teeth, and jaw.
Cartilaginous Joints
Slightly moveable joints composed of cartilage (fibro and hyaline), found in both axial and appendicular skeletons between ribs and sternum, between vertebrae (fibro), and symphysis pubis (fibro).
Synovial Joints
Freely moveable joints with no protection, composed of articular cartilage, found in the appendicular skeleton in areas like the shoulder, elbow, wrists, fingers, hip, knee, ankle, and toes.
