What is Fernentation ?
It is a Form of respiration in which Energy is extracted through Glycolysis
Fermentation does or doesn’t use Oxygen?
It doesn’t use Oxygen
Energetically speaking, what is the difference in energy between anaerobic and aerobic respiration
Anaerobic generates two ATP
Vrs
Aerobic respiration 38 ATP
How does the presence of Oxygen affects what tile of respiration will the cell use
Fermentation occurs when the oxygen levels within a cell are too low for aerobic cellular respiration.
Which are the final products of fermentation “anaerobic respiration “
Lactic Acid
Or
Ethanol
Apart from the Oxygen concentration, why is there energy difference between the two types of respiration?
On the Anaerobic only Glycolysis is performed
Whereas in the Aerobic we have the 4 stages.
In the Fermentation what happens with the electrons released from the partial brake down of the glucose ?
Are added directly to the Pyruvate molecule to produce Lactic acid Acid.
Why we can say you are on Fermentation when you do extra exercise 🤣?
Because the Lactic Acid that is produced when the cells don’t receive enough Oxygen due to the strong exercise
