also known as your pulse, is the number of times your heart beats per minute when you are at rest
How do you calculate resting heart rate?
Feel for your pulse, once you find it count the number of times your heart beats in 15 seconds, get that number and multiply it by 4. That will be your resting heart rate.
Maximum heart rate
The highest total number of beats per minute during strenuous exercise.
How do you calculate max heart rate

Target heart rate
The range of beats per minute you should aim for during exercise. On the low end you are burning fat and on the high end you are working cardiovascular fitness.
How to calculate target heart rate?
Take max heart rate and multiply it by .60 (60%) and .80 (80%). The 60% is the low end of the range and the 80% is the high end.
