Bone forming cells- make bone matrix-actively mitotic

Osteocytes

Mature bone cells- form when osteoblasts become surrounded by bone, monitor & maintain bone matrix, respond to mechanical stimuli & tell other cells to modify bone

Osteoclasts

Bone destroying cells (made from same stem cell as
macrophages)
