Cranial cavity
formed by cranial bones and contains the brain

Vertebral canal
formed by the vertebral column and contains the spinal cord

Thoracic cavity
chest cavity which contains the mediastinum and pericardial cavities

Mediastinum
a division in the thoracic cavity between the lungs which contains all viscera but the lungs

Pericardial cavity
the cavity that contains the heart

Pleural cavities
the cavities which contain the lungs

Abdominopelvic cavity
the cavity inferior to the diaphragm which is divided into the abdominal and pelvic cavities

Abdominal cavity
Contains the stomach, small intestine, most of the large intestine, appendix, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and spleen

Pelvic cavity
contains the urinary bladder, reproductive organs, and a portion of the large intestine
