What are the bases of a prism?
Two identical polygons (parallel to each other).
What connects the bases of a prism?
Rectangular faces.
How is a prism named?
Shape of the base + 'Prism'.
What is the height of a prism?
Distance between the bases.
What is the surface area of a prism?
Sum of the areas of the bases and the lateral faces.
What is the formula for the surface area of a prism?
S = areas of bases + areas of lateral faces
What is the formula for the surface area of a cylinder?
S = 2πr² + 2πrh
What is a regular pyramid?
A pyramid whose base is a regular polygon.
What are the lateral faces of a regular pyramid?
Triangles.
What is the slant height of a pyramid?
Height of each triangle on a pyramid.
What is the formula for the volume of a prism?
V = Bh
What is the volume of a prism?
Area of base times height of prism.
What is the formula for the volume of a pyramid?
V = (1/3)Bh
What is the volume of a pyramid?
One-third the product of the area of the base and the height of the pyramid.
What is a cross section?
The intersection of the plane and the solid is a two-dimensional shape.
