Hương: Hey Lam, I've been reading a lot about global warming lately. It's kind of scary. What do you think are the main things causing it?
Lam: Yeah, it's intense. I think the biggest causes are totally from human activities, especially us burning all those fossil fuels - coal, oil, and gas. Cutting down forests also increases CO2, and then you have industrial pollution just dumping more harmful gases into the air. What are your main concerns?
Hương: I agree with all that. The fossil fuels, the deforestation, factory emissions, and even agricultural methane all play a huge role. I also think all the excessive waste and poor trash management we have just makes the problem worse.
Lam: Totally. So, shifting gears, what kind of effects do you think global warming is having on our daily lives?
Hương: It affects everything! Temperatures keep soaring, heatwaves are hitting way more often, and sea levels are creeping up, which is terrible for anyone living near the coast. Natural disasters like storms and floods are becoming way more severe. Plus, it hurts biodiversity and messes with our food supply and health. What are you seeing?
Lam: Pretty much the same. Higher sea levels are forcing people to move. That extreme heat can make people sick, and unpredictable weather means stronger storms and worse droughts. Agriculture suffers, and animals are losing their homes because it's getting too hot. It creates challenges for both nature and people.
Hương: It's a big mess. So how do you think we can actually start to solve this problem? What's the realistic fix?
Lam: We should definitely switch to renewable energy like solar or wind power right away. Planting more trees and just being better about reducing waste can help a lot. And every person can do their part by saving energy and making small, eco-friendly choices daily.
Hương: Yes! And I think protecting existing forests, investing in better public transport, recycling more efficiently, and supporting smart environmental policies are all critical steps. Just getting more people aware and talking about it is huge, too.
