Add and keep the sign

Adding with Different Signs

Subtract the absolute values of the two numbers. The sum has the sign of the integer with the highest absolute value. 2 + -5 = -3

Subtracting Integers

Subtracting is the same as "Adding the Additive Inverse" or "Adding the Opposite"

Keep first number, Change operation to addition, Change sign of second number to its opposite

(KEEP, CHANGE, CHANGE)

2 - 5 Rewrite: 2 + (-5)
