Why warm up?
increase heart rate, blood pressure, body and muscle temp, and endurance and coordination; slowly acclimate body to exercise
Static stretching
a technique in which a muscle is slowly and gently stretched and then held in the stretched position
Dyanmic Stretching
Is a technique in which the muscle is constantly moving or doing exercises that might be used later in workout like a suicides
Generic Warm up
Are warm ups like a jog or sprints
Why cool down?
- Promote blood return to the heart
- Reduce muscle soreness
- Decrease risk of cardiac event
How long should static stretches be?
Static stretches should be about 5-10 minutes

Dynamic stretches should be about 5-10 minutes
Do you do dynamic or static stretches first?
Before a workout you should start with dynamic stretches first and then cool down or after the workout do static stretches
