Basic Sentence Structure
Chinese follows a Subject + Verb + Object structure.
Adjective Placement in Chinese
Adjectives are placed after the verb 'to be' (是) or directly before a noun.
很
Used as a neutral link between subject and adjective in Chinese.
Expressing Want Structure
Subject + 想 + Verb/Object.
会 (huì)
Used to indicate ability; means 'can/know how to' do something.
一点儿
Used after the verb to express a small quantity of something.
Expressing Ownership with 的 (de)
Used to connect a noun to a possessor or modifier.
就 (le) for Completed Actions
Indicates a completed action or change in state in Chinese.
觉得
Means 'to think/feel'; used to express opinions.
Question Formation using 吗 (ma)
Add 吗 to the end of a statement to form a yes/no question.
Expressing Politeness
Phrases like 别客气 (Don't be shy) and 太好了! (That's great!) express politeness or encouragement.
Measure Words
Required between numbers and nouns in Chinese.
和 (hé)
Used for 'and' between nouns only.
一起 (yìqǐ)
Means 'together'; used to express doing an action with another person.
