Vehicle
Any device by which a person or property may be transported on a public highway.
Motor Vehicle
Any self-propelled vehicle that is not operated on rails or guideway.
Pedestrian
Any person on foot.
Driver
A person who drives or is in physical control of a vehicle on a highway.
Owner
The person who holds the legal title of a vehicle.
Cancellation (driver's license)
The act of declaring a driver’s license void or terminated.
Suspension (driver's license)
Temporary withdrawal of a licensee’s privilege to drive a motor vehicle.
Revocation (driver's license)
Termination of a licensee’s privilege to drive a motor vehicle.
Disqualification
A prohibition that precludes a person from driving a commercial motor vehicle.
Class E License
A full license in Florida given to licensees of age 18 or more, allowing them to drive any vehicle less than 26,001 lbs with no more than 15 passengers.
Financial Responsibility Law
Owners and operators of motor vehicles must submit proof of financial responsibility in the event of a collision.
No Fault Law (Florida)
Requires any vehicle with 4 or more wheels in the state of Florida to buy an insurance policy in order to purchase a license plate or register a vehicle.
DUI
Driving under the influence.
BAL
Blood alcohol level.
Zero Tolerance Law (Florida)
Any driver under age 21 will have their license suspended for 6 months if BAL is .02 or higher.
Regulatory Signs
Traffic signs that give notice of traffic laws or regulations.
Warning Signs
Traffic signs that give warning of a situation that might not be readily apparent.
Guide Signs
Traffic signs that show routes destinations, direction, distances, services, points of interest, and other geographical, recreational, or cultural info.
