Tincture
To infuse or instill with a property - as example, a medicine consisting of an extract in an alcohol solvent.
Palliative
To ease symptoms of illness/disease without curing the underlying condition - it offers comfort, but not a cure.
Caveat
An explanation or warning that should be remembered when evaluating, interpreting or doing something.
Impervious
Not capable of being harmed or damaged - also not allowing entrance to.
Irreproachable
Not able to be blamed - impeccable - beyond corrections, improvements.
Subvert
To pervert or corrupt by an undermining of morals, allegiance, or faith.
Jaundiced
Literally, a yellowish pigmentation of the skin caused by too much bile in the bodily system - figuratively, it's said of someone who exhibits or is influenced by envy, distaste, or hostility.
Jocular
Said of someone who is given to jesting, they are habitually jolly.
Panache
A dash of style or flamboyance in style and actions.
Lucid
Said of something that is clear and understandingly - also a person having full possession of their faculties.
Inscrutable
Something or someone's actions/behavior that is not easily investigated, interpreted, or understood.
Sacrilege
Gross irreverence toward a hallowed person, place or thing.
Sorrel
A brownish orange to light brown (said of an animal's color) - it's also any of various plants with sour juice.
Extrude
To force, press, or push out - also pressing something thru a mold.
Tumid
Said of something marked by swelling or really aggressive language.
Impassive
Said of someone who gives no signs of feelings or emotions.
Frivolous
Said of things that have little importance or 'weight' it's silly or unimportant.
Supplication
To make a humble entreaty - often in prayer, but it's any sort of humble and earnest request.
Parse
To divide (a sentence) into grammatical parts and identify the parts and their relation to each other.
Torrid
This word is all about heat - it can mean giving off intense heat or being very passionate about something.
