Attitude
Judgments or evaluative statements—either favorable or unfavorable—about objects, people, or events.
Cognitive Dissonance
Any incompatibility an individual might perceive between two or more attitudes or between behavior and attitudes.
Job Satisfaction
A positive feeling about the job resulting from an evaluation of its characteristics.
Organizational Commitment
Identifying with a particular organization and wishing to maintain membership in it.
Perceived Organizational Support (POS)
Degree to which employees believe the organization values their contributions and cares about their well-being.
Employee Engagement
The individual’s involvement with, satisfaction with, and enthusiasm for the work.
Job Involvement
Degree to which a person identifies with a job and considers their performance important to self-worth.
Moderating Variables
Factors that influence the strength of the attitude-behavior relationship.
Counterproductive Work Behavior (CWB)
Actions that actively damage the organization, including stealing or exhibiting aggression.
Job Conditions
Intrinsic nature of work itself, social interactions, and supervision, which are important predictors of job satisfaction.
Outcomes of Job Satisfaction
Effects like improved job performance, organizational citizenship behavior, and increased customer satisfaction.
Gig Economy
A labor market characterized by short-term contracts or freelance work as opposed to permanent jobs.
