Beclomethasone

An inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) delivered via Metered Dose Inhaler (MDI); has more systemic side effects compared to other ICS.

Fluticasone

An inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) commonly used for ventilated patients; available through DPI (Diskus) and MDI.

Budesonide

An ICS available in nebulized format and DPI (Turbuhaler); the only common ICS that can be used with SVN.

Mometasone

An ICS delivered via DPI (Twisthaler); used in asthma management.

Ciclesonide

Prednisone

A systemic corticosteroid given IV/IM; also used in Status Asthmaticus.

Dexamethasone

Combination of ICS and LABA, used in DPI and administered BID for maintenance therapy in asthma and COPD.
