Emotional Detachment

Depressive Disorders

Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)
A disorder where a person experiences five or more symptoms lasting at least two weeks, with one being depressed mood or loss of interest.

A depressive disorder where a person experiences a depressed mood more days than not for at least two years.
Bipolar I Disorder
A type of bipolar disorder characterized by extreme mood swings that include episodes of mania.
Bipolar II Disorder
A condition where individuals experience hypomania and depressive episodes, with mania being less severe.
Schizophrenia
A severe mental disorder characterized by a disconnection from reality, often involving delusions and hallucinations.
Positive Symptoms of Schizophrenia
Symptoms that reflect an excess or distortion of normal functions, such as hallucinations and delusions.
Negative Symptoms of Schizophrenia
Symptoms that reflect a decrease or loss of normal functions, including lack of motivation and social withdrawal.
Dopamine Hypothesis
A theory suggesting that the positive symptoms of schizophrenia are caused by an excess of dopamine in the brain.
Dissociative Amnesia
