1. A Soldier in your squad wants to improve their run time and overall endurance but isn’t sure where to begin. What can the Army Wellness Center offer to help them?
I’d recommend they go to the Army Wellness Center for a VO2 max or submaximal cardio test. They can assess their cardiovascular fitness and create a custom training plan to improve endurance and run performance.
2. A Soldier is trying to lose weight to meet Army Body Composition Program standards. What specific services from the AWC would support that goal?
The AWC can do a body composition analysis using the BOD POD, provide metabolic rate testing to tailor calorie needs, and offer one-on-one health coaching for weight loss strategies and healthy habits.
3. One of your Soldiers is preparing for a deployment and wants to make sure they’re physically and mentally ready. How can the AWC assist with that?
The AWC can help with stress management training, sleep education, injury prevention, and tailored fitness plans. It’s a great resource to help Soldiers be mission-ready in all areas of health.
4. You notice a Soldier in your team has been dealing with stress and trouble sleeping. They don’t want to go to behavioral health. What can the AWC do for them?
The Army Wellness Center has non-clinical stress management services like biofeedback training and sleep hygiene education. It’s confidential and focused on improving performance and readiness.
5. A Soldier in your unit is recovering from a PT injury and wants to safely get back into shape. How could the AWC help with that process?
The AWC can provide movement and posture screenings, injury risk assessments, and gradual reconditioning plans that complement physical therapy and prevent reinjury.
