Begging the Question

the use of the claim as its own justification; circular reasoning that restates the claim instead of providing real support or explanation

Non Sequitur

draws a conclusion that does not logically follow from the premises or evidence

Appeal to Ignorance

argues that a lack of evidence is itself evidence; claiming something must be true (or false) because it hasn’t been proven otherwise

Appeal to Authority

submits testimony from an irrelevant or unreliable source as evidence; citing someone who is not a true expert on the subject
